The North Reading Peewees kicked off their parity round with an undefeated run of three consecutive wins. The wins are particularly sweet for the Hornets as they faced the top Peewee team from each town they played – compared to our smaller program with only one Peewee team.

The first game was a 7-5 win over South Boston's AA team. The Hornets had 3 goals from Rowan Dunbar. Not to be outdone, his brother Andrew Dunbar stepped up with three goals and an assist.  Tyler Morello and Luke Baker were both instrumental in the offensive pressure in South Boston's zone.   Hazel Pearsall, Ava Baker, Madison Delvecchio and Tommy Gazda were superb on defense.

Next our Peewee Hornets faced Chelmsford's AA team and wrangled a 4-1 win. Aggressive fore checking from Ryan Stringer and Corbin Day helped keep the Hornets on top, but the flawless goal-tending of Ryan Losolfo sealed the victory for the Hornets.

Rounding out the hat trick of wins was an 8-2 victory over Burlington. This win saw goals from Nolan DeGregorio, Max Forristall, Duncan Gulino, with Max Gulino and Brendan Rooney on the score sheet with assists.

Coach Rick “Digger” DeGregorio said, “The team has been working hard at practice and their efforts have paid off in their first three games. This is a great group of kids and the coaches are looking forward to seeing them develop as a team as the season continues.”

The Peewees recently celebrated their three wins with a pizza party at Ipswich River Park. Of course, the party included lots of street hockey too!
